A parent's worst nightmare
We all know the statistics: Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for teens. Drivers ages 16 to 19 are three times more likely than drivers 20 and older to be in a fatal crash. The Guard your Life Challenge is trying to make a difference in a fun, memorable way.
In return for their fulfillment of the Guard your Life Challenge, teens can register to participate in a half day driving clinic with BMW Performance Driving instructors that includes both classroom and behind the wheel instruction. The classes are designed to educate teens on the dangers of distracted driving, to teach basic braking skills and give participants a feel for stability, traction control and ABS systems and the effect these systems have on the vehicle.
Teens report these classes are an eye opener. We have heard from teens that the skills they learned saved their life or got them out of a dangerous situation.

A parent must be present for registration and the classroom portion, if the teen is under 18. After the classroom portion, parents are free to leave, however parents are strongly encouraged to stay and watch the teens drive!
The Guard Your Life event begins in the classroom to discuss driving safety, how to properly sit in the car, seat and mirror adjustment, and more. Then the group goes outside to drive brand new BMW’s in three different areas: Skid recovery, distractions, and emergency braking.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers and past students, Guard Your Life does not cost you anything except a refundable deposit to hold your spot in the class. After the class is over, the $75.00 deposit can be refunded or can be donated to help cover the cost of future classes. Guard Your Life Challenge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization and your donation may be tax deductible.
